Why Students Must Lead
Students live closest to the future shaped by today’s choices. They will inherit the results of climate decisions, education systems, healthcare structures, and economic policies. Because of this, students often see problems earlier and more clearly than institutions built on slower timelines.
Students also bring curiosity, speed, and creativity that older systems lack. They question norms, test new ideas, and adapt quickly to change. When students lead, solutions become more direct, more innovative, and more relevant to the world they will soon guide.
Leadership is not about age—it is about urgency, insight, and willingness to act. Students hold all three. That is why student leadership is essential for the SDGs and for any meaningful progress.
왜 학생들이 앞장서야 하는가
학생들은 오늘의 결정이 만들어 낼 미래를 가장 먼저, 그리고 가장 크게 받아들이는 세대입니다. 기후 변화의 결과도, 교육과 보건 체계의 변화도, 경제 정책의 영향도 결국 학생들의 삶에 직접 닿습니다. 그래서 학생들은 기존 조직보다 더 빠르게 문제를 감지하고, 그 심각성을 정확히 이해합니다.
또한 학생들은 호기심과 속도, 창의성을 함께 갖춘 세대입니다. 관습을 의심하고, 새로운 방식을 시도하며, 변화에 가장 빠르게 적응합니다. 학생들이 주도할 때 해결책은 더 현실적이고 더 혁신적이며, 곧 그들이 살아갈 세상에 정확히 맞춰집니다.
리더십은 나이로 정해지지 않습니다. 긴박함을 느끼는 힘, 통찰력, 행동할 의지가 리더십을 만듭니다. 학생들은 이 세 가지를 모두 갖추고 있습니다. 그래서 SDGs를 실천하고, 실제 변화를 만드는 데 학생 리더십은 필수적입니다.
Our Mission
Our mission is to give students the knowledge, tools, and space needed to understand global challenges and act on them. SDG Korea/Jeju was created to turn awareness into action and information into change. The platform gathers research, data, and expert perspectives, then reshapes them into language students can use.
This mission is built on three principles: clarity, access, and impact. Clarity ensures that complex issues become understandable. Access allows students everywhere to learn, regardless of school or background. Impact focuses on moving beyond discussion toward practical steps that create visible results.
Our goal is simple: empower students to become informed leaders who shape a sustainable future.

우리의 목표는 지속 가능한 미래를 직접 만들어 나갈 수 있는 ‘준비된 학생 리더’를 키우는 데 있습니다.
SDG Korea/Jeju operates as a completely non-profit, student-led initiative. Any funds generated through student projects, events, or collaborative activities are not retained by the platform. All proceeds are directed 100% to local schools, community programs, or recognized fundraising authorities that support education and sustainable development.
This commitment ensures that every contribution directly strengthens learning, expands opportunity, and supports meaningful action within the community. SDG Korea/Jeju exists to serve students and society—not to create revenue.
비영리 운영 원칙
SDG Korea/Jeju는 전적으로 학생이 운영하는 비영리 플랫폼입니다. 학생 프로젝트나 행사, 협력 활동을 통해 어떠한 금액이 발생하더라도 플랫폼이 보유하지 않습니다. 모든 수익은 100% 지역 학교와 교육 프로그램, 또는 공신력 있는 모금 기관에 전달되어 학생 교육과 지속가능 발전 활동을 지원합니다.
이 원칙은 모든 기여가 지역 사회의 학습 기회 확대와 실질적 변화에 직접 연결되도록 하기 위한 것입니다. SDG Korea/Jeju는 수익을 위한 조직이 아니라, 학생들과 공동체를 위한 공공적 플랫폼입니다.
